We are thrilled to announce that the third biennial International Journal on Homelessness Conference will be held on January 26-29, 2027, at the University of Pretoria in Pretoria, City of Tshwane, South Africa. This conference is developed in partnership with the Ruff Institute of Global Homelessness (IGH) and the Center for Faith & Community at the University of Pretoria.

Call for Abstracts

The International Journal on Homelessness invites you to submit your abstract to give an oral, Symposia, or poster presentation at the IJOH 2027 Conference. To allow space for as many interested presenters as possible, presenters may only submit one abstract as the lead author, although they may be named as co-author on any number of presentations.

The deadline to submit is March 20, 2026. Authors will be notified about the result of their submission in late April 2026. If you have questions regarding the abstract submission process, please contact: Dr. Abe Oudshoorn, Editor-in-Chief, IJOH, abe.oudshoorn@uwo.ca.

Conference Program

The in-person convening is expected to convene up to 400 attendees, including people with lived experience/expertise of homelessness, researchers, practitioners, local and national government leaders, and other experts from nearly every region of the world, to exchange knowledge about proven practices and strategies to prevent and end homelessness.

The conference is inclusive of all knowledge and disciplines related to preventing and ending homelessness, featuring keynote speakers, panels, presentations, discussion forums, and optional site visits to local organizations.
